Louisiana Law Enforcement Conducting Controlled Deliveries for Chinese Steroids

Law enforcement agencies in Louisiana have conducted a “controlled delivery” of anabolic steroids this week acknowledging that there was “nothing unusual” about the steroid bust pointing out that they intercept packages originating in Europe, Asia and South America.
In this case, the Louisiana State Police were tipped off by U.S. Immigration and Customs Service officials in California to a large package of steroids that originated in China and was address to an individual in Thibodaux, Louisiana . Undercover agents from the Thibodaux Police Deparment and the Lafourche Sheriff’s Department dressed up as mail carriers in a controlled delivery to bust Clint Schwab (”State Police go undercover for drug busts,” November 26).
Troopers at State Police Troop C in Gray said the U.S. Immigration and Customs Service contacted their office Thursday after a large package of steroids bound for Thibodaux arrived in a California post office from China.
Troopers arrested Clint Schwab, who lived at the apartment, for evidence gathered during their investigation. He was charged with intent to distribute a Schedule III controlled dangerous substance.
Federal agents working with troopers, Thibodaux Police and the Lafourche Sheriff’s Office conducted what they call a “controlled delivery” Monday.
Agents dressed as mail carriers and delivered the package to the Thibodaux address.
 The exact quantity of anabolic steroids seized during the steroid bust was not revealed although an “estimated street value” of $11,100 was released that was considered sufficient to level a steroid distribution charge.
