DEA Fugitive Behind Universal Labs Busted with Massive Amounts of Steroids

DEA fugitive Joshua Hodnik was arrested today during a steroid bust in Oklahoma City that uncovered “massive amounts of steroids.” Hodnik operated the underground lab that distributed anabolic steroids under the label “Universal Labs” (as seen in the photos below of Universal Labs Dianabol and Universal Labs Winstrol). He was indicted on August 15, 2007 for possession with intent to manufacture and distribute anabolic steroids but fled prosecution in Texas before trial (”Bust uncovers ‘massive amounts of steroids,’” July 9).

Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel said that Hodnik was an “international drug dealer” on the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) top 5 most wanted list! Whetsel also calls Oklahoma City an “illogical place.”

“More and more, you are finding drug dealers setting up in illogical places to ward off law enforcement,” said Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel. “This, hopefully, sends a message to Mr. Hodnik and other drug dealers that we will take you down.”

Sheriff Whetsel’s bewilderment at steroid dealer Josh Hodnik’s base of operations notwithstanding, Oklahoma is apparently a hotbed of anabolic steroid distribution. Internet sales and distribution of steroids make geographical location largely irrelevant.

    A federal parolee out on parol gets busted again. Sets up Ray the flee's so ray and family can suffer. JH was busted In march 2007 but helped county by setting up ray til ray's arrest and wife in aug 2007. Then flee's. What's a F@ckin Rat! And narc I can't wait to be at ray's trial when your star witness testfies.

    I don't even know where to start. As a Provider (health care) I can think of 20 people a day that would have a probable positive effect from the administration of testosterone. Even a steroid with a more favorable estrogenic or not as easily aromatized would have a high risk to benefit ratio. After ruling out certain conditions and differentials, some patients are getting weakness, from idiopathic sources. I believe some pain conditions due to weak surrounding musculature, arthritis, depression, etc. I see younger people with morbid obesity that could be helped. I would like to point out the 1000 dollar HCG program, I gurantee most bbers could get someone shredded for way less than 1000 and through in a training program. As for the stupidity that is prevailing now, comparing AAS to methamphetamine, crack and heroin? The last crack addict we did a bronchoscopy on had steel wool embedded in his right lung, oh and came to us from county detention for armed robbery. What ever happened to evidenced based practice with the medical community and law enforcment (well at least the medical community). The witch hunt will continue until something that doesn't pose a real threat is uncovered and takes its place. The DEA will be taking down the scurge of society...health food store.

    more govt intrusion into our lives, what else is new.. perhaps they should be spending their time going after real criminals like child molesters, rapists, shady bankers & slush fund operators, organized crime syndicates that engage in human trafficking, sleezy & corrupt politicians etc..
